Week 1 - Expectations4/6/2020 This week is about taking it easy and working back into a rhythm...
Good news: the online market website is back up! (Check the resources page! We can start this right away!) Bad news: we have to ditch the government game. So what are we going to do? * We are going to take our time. * We are going to consider all that is going on in the world, and make connections between the news and the course. * We are going to cut down the number of units, we will cover Keynes (with connections to institutionalism & monetarism) and contemporary economics (mostly behavioural.) What can you expect from me? * I will answer your emails as timely as I can. * I will try to establish set times we can video conference to discuss ecomonics if you'd like. (details and tech to come) * I will post a rough timeline for the course. * I will post a weekly blog with clear expectations, resources and small assignments to be completed that week. * I will keep in mind that this is weird, and you have other classes to worry about other than just mine. What are my expectations of you? * Check in with the website. * Read the assigned material. * Participate when/where you can, * Submit the assignments. * Be honest, be clear and communicate your needs, concerns, ideas & questions. First week Priorities: 1) hand in your communism one pager 2) log into howthemarketworks.com and set up a profile, join the class competition https://www.howthemarketworks.com/register/182252 3) log into Microsoft Office 365 and see if you are able to use this platform, specifically teams. You will need your langleyschools login and password. I would like to use this platform for video chat. As always, email me with any questions or concerns.
